The figure needs to be floating or standing on a floor. Some anti
aliasing will soften the image up. It looks like the pillars are the
same height as the pentagram, which is causing a strange effect in the
texture. This is a known fact when two surfaces are equal. Make on of
them a fraction higher to get rid of that artifact.

Keep up the good work.

hehe. I think I got it. I decided to drop the character. I think it
takes more away from the atmosphere in the image than it adds, and
besides, the skeleton adds about 20,000 objects, and adds 30 minutes
to render time.

Thanks for the suggestion on the Texture problem, and the
anti-aliasing. I will have to admit though, i don't understand the
difference between Anti-alias and non-Alias, as far as rendering the
images is concerned.

Anti-aliasing is explained in the POV-Ray docs, section 3.2.6.5
"Anti-Aliasing Options". Basically, anti-aliasing reduces the 'jaggies'
or the jagged look to rendered objects.

Anti-Aliasing is like a controled blurring of pixels. It only blends pixels
that are next to eachother and drastically different. It makes fora much
better image and it doesn't add much to the render time.

You might be able to make the light more of a glowing object by using the
tips on this page:

This has a really nice feel to it. It reminds me of
old footage of science labs.
