I agree completely. I much prefer symbolic representation than literal
statement when it comes to logos.

Know what's really sad about the Nike swoosh? It was designed by a graphic
design student at Portland State University, who sold it lock stock and barrel
for $60. At even a tenth of a penny per use she would be a millionaire several
times over...

One of my friends parents, a chiropodist, gave NIKE the idea for the
common kink in the heal of the shoe and was offered 1% of the profits
but declined because they did it for a favour and for such a small
company. How he must regret being so kind.

Pushed the button to fast.
Just another test that turned out kinda nice. Comments welcome. In case
you are wondering, it shows CSG and uses the three basic shapes, sphere,
cylinder, box. It also shows the three dimensions and (to me) looks a little
futuristic. It uses the camera_location as a parameter and allows scaling
and positioning.
I made a less nice one and for those who are 3D challenged, it makes a
decent 2D, 8 color image.

I like this combination of shapes.

So you did not use torii where the sphere meets the planes (boxes)?

All you need is sphere and box...

All I used was sphere and cylinder, but it made a box so I counted that
too.
