This is a detail from a much larger project.
It is mostly untextured, just modeled.

I this it's obvious from it's design what it is, but I'm much to close to
the problem. I'm wondering if it's obvious to anyone else?

If you can figure out what it is, and have any suggestions on it, please let
me know :)

Well, it takes two hands to open it, but what it is a hatch -to- I
couldn't guess.

I'd say it's the hatch to an alien embryo containment unit. Of course the colour
is all wrong.

Actually, I think its the 3rd security drawer in the high-security Old
Rotten Preserved Mice contaiment center, fourth floor, sixth door, first
office on the right.

Looks like an unfinished manhole cover.

Well - I haven't textured it yet :)

Besides, what color SHOULD alien embryo containment unit BE anyways?

The general consensus seems to be some sort of high security access
hatchway, which is what I was going for.

Thank you :)

It looks like some kind of maintenance access panel...like a circuit
breaker, computer circuitry, or relay box embedded in a wall or floor.
Or maybe my scale is off, it might be a cover to a small passage, again,
only something useful for maintenance(something like the "Jefferey's
Tubes" in Star Trek).

It certainly doesn't look high-security...from it's appearance, I would
say you just rotate the four corner pieces and pull out on the two big
handles to open it. No electromagnetic locks visible, no keypad, retinal
scanner, voiceprint recognition, fingerprint verification, not even a
padlock...

Aha! You fell for it. That's the whole point! It doesn't LOOK
high-security, but the truth is that it really Isn't! The thief would
just walk by it, open it for a second, glance inside and close it
quickly, not taking notice of the contents, because it would be so
obvious to him that it isn't high security that nobody in his sane mind
would ever put there something valueble! But wait - Am I sane? no!!!!
HAHAHAHA..errr that's enough.

Oops! I meant high-TECH, not security :)

Nope - not even a lock :)

There is nothing to give it scale at the moment, I realize, but rough size
is 4ft x 3ft, although the model is run solely on parameters, I can tweak it
to any size I'll end up needing.

Looks like it's recognizable thanks :)

Now I working on the latch labels, the hatch label, and the company logo...

Oh - it's supposed to be the access panel on the case of a supercomputer :)
