I'm doing this picture for my portfolio (and perhaps It might help me get in
a school...). It's a bit empty at the moment (I'm planning to add some stuff
on the table and the lighting will change). Hopefully mr jpg didn't hurt it
much (didn't check. besides, I'm blind as a bat).
Suggestions, criticism (ANY kind will do)

That's pretty dang realistic looking, if a bit sterile. Just add some
clutter on the dresser, maybe put something on the wall. I envision a plant
on top of the black object.

Nice.

Thanks! It's actually based on real life (and resembles the actual thing
quit much)

Thanks ! Like I already answered to Mike it's based on my own night table
(or whatever u wanna call it). It's actually almost the sterile in reality
(well ok, there's some dust :) ) but I'm planning on throwing a bunch of
useless stuff in there.

The black object is where all my CDs are (not currently included in the
scene) and I don't have a single plant in my room but that might look nice.
Maybe a cactus

Thanks again :)

Yeah! I have some cacti in my room. They'd be dang hard to model, maybe in
sPatch, but then you couldn't make a variance macro...

True but I only need one and I like sPatch (the clock was made in sPatch).

I can see you get up early :) Very good realism here, but I have to question
your wall. Is it crand?

Actually the "wall" you are referring to is a curtain and no it is not crand
it's infact granite normal.
Maybe I need to make it more wavy or something :)

It's funny, but I like the uncluttered look of the scene. But I do
agree that it looks 'sterile'. You mentioned somewhat jokingly that
it's that sterile in reality, except for some dust. This might sound
sarcastic, though it isn't meant to be, but have you considered adding
some dust to the scene?

Reality is reality, dust (and even fingerprints) included. :-)
