The gravity wheel, with some workstations inside.
I am planning a Mars mission with this one.

Yes, it's open, that is where it connects to the rest of the ship.
Rendered with MegaPOV in 32 minutes... It's all CSG so far.

It's looking good, but the frame connecting the ring ot the central
point is usually an empty frame wiht lots of space.

And you might get flamed for the inline image. Please post images as
attachments, it makes life much easier for everyone.

I want my gravwheel to seem smaller, not going for earth gravity, but
something a little less than Mars gravity (5/8 of Earth) Just enough to
keep the coffee in the mugs.

You might want to make it two stacked wheels. A single wheel like that will
cause problems when it starts or stops spinning -- the spaceship will end up
spinning in the other direction. Two wheels spinning in opposite directions
will balance each other.

Yeah, but I am trying for a small ship appearance, like a mission to Mars. No
matter how many wheels there are, they all have to be stopped everything
strapped down to maneuver the ship.

But for 95% of the mission, the ship is in straight (well, elliptical) flight
with the wheel spinning.

Just for scale, the interior of the wheel is supposed to be about 15-20 feet
from floor to ceiling. The entire wheel is about 100 ft radius.
