Here is my latest project, a set of wind chimes hanging on the corner of
a building. It is barely started, I really need to improve the vines and
the wind chime will get a lot more variety to it, and the roof is in
severe need of redoing. Any suggestions?

This is all hand coded and rendered in MacMegaPOV 0.4.

Yup. The little green blobs on the vines need to go. :)
And a area light would be nice!
This is a good start.

The vines look real wirey like someone has an intricate wiring sys. Cable
in every room of the house...?
The chimes look good.
Lets see more of the yard. Through reflections in a window...?

The edge of the roof needs a gutter on it where it looks like asphalt right now.
So I suggest a gutter with drain pipe going down the corner of the house.

Those are actually just plain green spheres, so I know where the leaves
will go. I have been working mostly on the stem part...
I have been thinking about the possibilities of using trace() to allow
the vines to "grow" along the bricks and mortar...right now they are
just arranged in a kind of bent plane.

I'm not sure here...it is supposed to be a sun-lit scene with only a few
clouds in the sky. Shadows are pretty sharp under those conditions.
I am thinking of maybe putting a tree behind the view point so it's
shadow falls on the wall, in that case, an area light would probably be
good...

The real vines I am attempting to imitate(a type of ivy) do bear a
strong resemblence to wire. I take this as an indication that I have
been successful...

Really? I am not very happy with them...I am having a hard time getting
them complex enough to be interesting without getting tangled up.

Wouldn't it be easier to just turn the camera around? Here it is, you
can see my grand view of a tree-box and a pseudo-grass covered ground
box. :-)
