hMM.. at first it looked like the first run produced the shape, second run
colored it, third run added a finish, and the last run added a finish as
well... am I missing something with this idea. I figured putting a normal on
the objects would be in line as well....

I like the idea, and I think it would make a nice little animation ("The
texuring of a superellipsoid")

Mold, color, finish, normal, right?
I would have made normal second because it is part of the shape and also
whatever machine makes all those dents in 'em is likely to damage the nice
finish.

Hehe your right it would make more sense to switch the 2 around.

Nope the last run adds a normal as you thought. I should probably increase the
bump depth on the normal to make them more visible.

Thanks:-)

Yeah I to though it would make a good animation, although the model isn't really
built for animations. It would be hard to animate the conveyor belt surface to
make it move/bend/conform correctly.

Hmmm.... come to think of it, this is true. Looks like a challenge to me. I might be
able to rig something up, and if I do, I'll let you know.

I only just now saw this one. A novel idea. Might be good to have a formless
mass to start off then a shape creating machine at the end of the first conveyor
belt. I had to look over this image a short while before a realized what it was
I guess because even with the title I wasn't sure what to expect. If this were
animated it would really show it off better. And maybe some spotlights for
regional lighting too?

Bob
