0.4?
Nathan's web site says that 0.3 was released on 99/12/21, but makes no mention
of 0.4.

Nathan is in the process of moving right now so his web site has not
been updated to reflect the change from v0.3 to v0.4. Additionaly
Nathan has run out of space on his web page for the windows executable
and will be offering it for download in the future from the povray.org
ftp server - ftp://ftp.povray.org/pub/povray/Unofficial/MegaPOV/
You can get the Windows version of MegaPov v0.4 at the above URL but
reference to it from Nathans home page will have to wait for him
to reach Florida and get an online connection established.

Thanks for the link.
Silly question: if I were to move to Alaska tomorrow, my web "presence" wouldn't
change, and I'd be able to connect in a heartbeat because AOL and FreeAltavista are
nationwide. What gives?

Only that Nathan is driving a car/truck right now and once in Florida
needs to move in, get settled, and take care of getting his computer
set up.
Is it possible to connect from a car with a laptop and a cell phone ?

I've been using 3 layered image maps from
http://www.lancs.ac.uk/postgrad/thomasc1/render/planets/earth.htm
with good results.

It is, but I'd never want to do so when on the road. Well, maybe if stopped
over someplace a couple days. I treat any travel like a vacation, including
vacation from internet connecting.

I'm posting an example of the 'image_pattern' at the p.t.s-f.
Look for "Land and Water: Differing Highlights" there.

Isn't it also quite expensive and insecure?

Oh, well I was just answering Kens question about something I don't know about.
Not the first time that's happened.

Happens to me all the time :-) (As you probably already knew)
But I agree it is good to treat a road trip like a vacation.
