Here's a development of my mushroom garden. I'm still playing with shadows,
which are proving to be a pain; I'm struggling against fog and radiosity to
make them more visible. Except for that and the one jagged edge on the
yellow/green mushroom that just won't go away, I'm very happy with the image.
The smaller mushrooms don't collide with the large ones anymore, I appreciate
everyone's help with that, thanks.
I do have a question for all you MegaPOV people: What the heck does "Illegal
grid value in dda_traversal()." mean? This is some kind of debugging message
I assume, but how do I get rid of it?

I really envy your textures. The finish is spot-on realistic and the
colours are so vibrant! I think real mushrooms are more wet looking, but
theese are better than real!

That isn't MegaPOV specific, the dda_traversal warning. Not as common a
thing to see as it used to be in earlier versions of POV-Ray. I usually
encountered the problem with height fields when another object was being
intersected with them somehow. Maybe someone remembers the fixes to that,
what I recall is just to move the camera a bit, but I think it could be more
the intersecting objects with meshes kind of thing.

If I were voting on this in terms of IRTC, I'd say that it's very pretty: pretty
use of colors--high artistic score.
Conceptually, though, it really bugs me. WHY ARE there two different sizes of
mushrooms? You can't say they are baby ones: they're too close together....

I believe I encountered this message rendering the phalanx scene. The grass
height fields caused the error to scroll down and fill up the message window
after which the computer crashed. Rotating the grass a degree or two fixed it.

Thanks, I'm glad to get all these positve responses. And actually, it's more like
the tiny ones are just a different species of mushroom, they don't grow as big as
the other ones.

The rotation seems to have fixed the problem, thank you.

One reason you may be having trouble with the shadow is because some of the
mushrooms are actually floating! Really! Look at the shadows in the lower
right-hand corner. See what I mean? Shadows without objects. Bring them
shrooms back to earth and I think your shadow problems will go away.

You aren't using the IRTC to promote shroom use, are you? j/k
H.E. Day was right, some of them are floating. Otherwise it's looking better
every day...err...post.
