Thought it might be fun for the p.b.i regulars to post their first pics
(whatever you think to be your first.. no rules apply). Kind of like
those pages of baby pictures in all yearbooks.

Here's my first: A toilet (duh).

I wonder what this means?

Ok, I'm game. This was my first render fresh from the starting gates of the
POV tutorials - I remember struggling to figure out how to make the
"cast-iron" texture as well as sitting there with my hand in the air making
sure I had my left-hand thumb pointed in the right direction (for the
rotations). ;-]

Ok,

Here are the earliest images of mine (that I can find). I made these the day
after the first version of Povray with radiosity came out. They were my
first radiosity tests. The box one was made with PovPad, and the other one
was done in Moray 2.5 (I think).

Enjoy.

It means your not quite right in the head (pun!)
My first image rendered actually came out a very pure rgb 0 edge to edge,
if I remember right. My second, or I should say next "real" render would
have gone nicely with that toilet bowl (inside and flushed). Alas, for
nostalgic reasons such as your request to post such here I've since held
onto it in a zip archive. It's also in my gallery I think, but I'll post
here to add to the esteemed collection, of which it is bound to be.

I think it might mean you need a little more privacy when using the toilet. I
usually like a few walls around mine! :-)

I was really proud of this, I used image maps on the spheres,
and kept loosing the flights on the arrows when rotating and
translating them, (the old translate, rotate trick).

I still like the colour of the plane and the way the flights of
the arrows shadows overlap.

I was going to use this as the background for a presentation that
I was doing in PPoint, but left and got a better job instead.

Cheers
Steve

I think it is definatly a bit bazaire that you choose to render a 3D Loo,
for your fisrt image, what happened to the checker plane with reflective
sphere?

Maybe you need help.

This is the most ancient image of mine I could find back. It must
be the 3rd, or the 4th... I had a hard time trying to map the sphere,
until I understood that I had to map at the origin, THEN translate the
sphere ! The letters are a heightfield (POV 2.1, circa january 1994).
"elsen" is the name of the firm that my father owns.

Cheers,
Fabien.

can't hardly top your toilet, but here's my first image which was more
than testing spheres and stuff...
