Done in pov. I'm not satisfied yet, I tried using photons but for some
reason, after 30% it looked the same so I just did it without.

Dunno. Maybe the photon patch doesn't work in area lights or texture
maps. Nathan?

Two suggestions. Lower the diffuse value of the background white plane
to something like 0.5 0.r even 0.375. Also, use a larger area_light.
The shadows are too sharp, especially those of the "Festival" word.

Just some thoughts, anyway.

it looks rather good, although i think it's far to big for a logo. (shrink it)

I like it allot, nice fonts! As for the photon patch, as I remember it doesn't
work well with area lights, though I did and image, my first photon image
(quite a few posts down), with an area light and photon mapping which turned
out quite nicely, had very subtle caustic maybe that's the problem though,
maybe they weren't supposed to be so subtle? Oh and if you wanted to use
photon mapping it only works with textures that are somewhat reflective or
refractive, I don't see this in any of the textures for your logo. Also you
won't see any reflective or refractive caustics on a background as bright and
white as yours is, you need to tone it way down. And lastly I find the shadows
in your image confusing, its hard to tell where the lettering ends and where
its shadow begins, tree angling the light so the shadows aren't cast right
behind the lettering and use an area light with more lights, the shadows are
too sharp.

I like the metallic texture of the "POV-Ray" lettering. Is it texture_mapped
as well?

It makes me thinking that apart from the black and white checkered board,
POV-Ray doesn't have a logo of its own, like Lightwave, Maya and the like.

Has any of you have an idea.
It could be a very interesting theme for the IRTC.
