Well, I'm upset at him!

I've submitted so many pics to this group. Did he take any of them without
permission? No! He didn't take ANY of them. Boo! Hiss! :)

I mean, come on! A photon test pic gets in, but none of mine? >:)

LOL, yeah, I wondered what the pre-requisite was for an image to be
chosen. I don't think there's much harm done, the poor guy just jumped
before he thought and we are all guilty of that some time or another.
It's a very good idea if you ask me, and he should even be commended for
doing so, but I think everyone would feel better if there were a
images-only place to see *all* the uploads, even if just a list, not
some. The task would no doubt be daunting unfortunately and probably
under the jurisdiction of the povray news administrator(s). Anyone got a
guess as to how many images exist here since inception of this
newsgroup? I'll say a thousand or more.
I'm sure this is just rehashing an old topic. None-the-less a good one
since binaries.images is never going to be pure images alone. Oops, I
just happened to realize some of us have posted images to
povray.general. I don't mean before, I mean just now I did. Sorry
general readers! Will have to blame the administrator for making the
request for them there ;)

The images are here to stay. There is no intention
to remove the older images from this server.
But as harddisks have the tendency to fill up.....

I am sure I too have read in one of the newsgroups a message from the
news server admin that they will make every attempt to save every messge
posted but as space becomes a problem older files will have to be deleted.
I would say though that this group of images has the makings of an
official Pov-Ray images CD. Even if not quite the same artistic talent
as that shown in the I.R.T.C there are many here that are none the less
extaordinary and would do well to promote the art of raytracing with
Pov-Ray.

Ken's inspirational message of the week.

Great idea.... sources as well .-)
and the messages, of course...
It would prove a great inspiration source for me, and probably others...

I haven't captured *every* image posted here, but I do have a folder with
over 17Megs of them. I use them for inspiration, but currently they're all
zipped up.

Oh man, 17 megs? I try my best not to d/l them. Pleasure is in seeing
all the new and many images that show up here. Although, I must admit I
probably have a few megs worth.

Well, zipping them doesn't save much room, if at all, but it makes for a
tidy archive.

I would like to add a note about it one more time:

I snatch pictures which i find goodlooking and i put them on my website.
If anyone finds their picture there and doesn't like it, just drop me a
note and i'll remove it.

I'll enhance that page when i get more time. For the moment i'm working
with some Uni-courses which needs to be finished before the summer.

Apparently I have no "good-looking" images. I was hopeful I might find
one of mine there.
I didn't notice the "povray" url/link in the message I'm replying to, I
just saw your entry web page, I guess it is, next to your name (it shows
up as a blue clickable link in Netscape Communicator) so I clicked on
that to look again. I couldn't help but laugh at the "shocking" link
graphic there. Really strange, don't think I've come across anything
funnier before. Anyhow, I went to the correct page eventually via that
page and also tried a couple of the other links. To my surprise there
seemed to be pictures of hand surgery going on! Awfully bad, terrible in
fact. Is that you? And what happened to you if you don't mind me asking?
