Hi everyone

I just signed on to this newsgroup and was looking at all the nice pics.
So I thought why not post one of my own. So here is one of the images
I've done. You can find others on my home page if you like.

I like the atmosphere. Are the raindrops real objects or post-processing?
I think the bricks would look better indented (comments, Ken? :)
About the puddle: It actually looks amazingly good, but I get the impression
that it's not a static puddle but rather water rushing out from underneath
the building. I suggest you make it flatter, also pehaps a bit darker.
All in all, great image. Reminds me of a scene I did once but never
finished. I might look it up and finish it now...

A good image, but in some way it needs more "dirt" .. The cans are nice and
clean, the stair isn't affected by a normal(ooo) and so on. If you find the
patience this image will prove a masterpice, if you don't, It'll rank as a good
experience :-)

I love that one, especially the raindrops which give that dark atmosphere. How
did you make them.
In spite of that perfection, there is something off : The puddle get rained on
and there is no mark of the raindrops on it.

Great picture !

I think the term you are looking for is a recessed mortar layer.
Everyone knows that indenting mortar would be a mad and lunatic
endeavour beneath even the lowest and unworthy Pov-ray user out
there.

I was talking about the bricks. The term "staggered offsets" would probably
be better, but I was so tempted...
I tend to agree about the mortar, BTW.

Actually all they are is a bozo texture on a plane infront of the camera. I
just took a bozo texture with a colour map of white and transparency so you
could see through to the scene behind and scaled it down untill the bloby
texture looked like streaks. I got this methode for doing rain from an image
on the IRTC.

What do you mean by this? all the bricks are separate objects and the morter
is simply a large cube. I know it seems a little like overkill to have each
brick separate but I couldn't think of any other way to create the 3D effect
of the bricks protruding from the wall. Oh did I menstion I used Moray to
create this image? I use Moray for all my images. I guess I could have created
the bricks with some sort of macro but I don't know how these work, anyone
have a tutorial on macros?

What do you mean? Joke?
