Hey! That mean me?! I'm like a poser figure? j/k
You capture my imagination, anyway, with stuff like this. Guess this is
media at work again... Got to say though, what it could really use is a
heavier "wind" of fire blowing past the jigsawed guy as he stands still,
shattering yet unmoving. That's my opinion anyhow. Would look extremely
wild with that showing much more (thicker) somehow. May not be what you
want though, and tough to get media to behave as it is as we all know.
As I re-read this before posting and seeing your picture again, it
doesn't look as easy to do what I suggest as it may sound. Most probably
a darker shadow behind the pieces is not compatible with denser media,
if you get my meaning, because the media will put shadows awash in
itself. Looks like maybe this is already the case too. Chances are a
thinner slice could be used, cutting the media off on either side of
that guy but then you'd lose the look of thick plasma(?) engulfing it.
Hope at least some of this makes sense (Andy).

Very good image.. Very good indeed..
just a point, perhaps adding something else that has burned/is burning, a leaf or
something...

Excellent!!!! You've tapped into something, there; I've been wanting
to do that to Poser figures for months.... :)
I hate to repeat the words of Stephen here, but the blast does look
a bit like smoke.... a bit of an adjustment to the turbulence
will help here. Really what is needed here is a radial turbulence...
unfortunately, though, turbulence is only cartesian, and nonlinear
transforms aren't supported. But I think you need to work on
the momentum flux associated with the blast to get more of the
effect that you seek here.

Me?? I haven't said anything yet... even though I do like the image.. I
normally let the vocal people have a go because they cover what I'd
say.... I think you mean Bob.

Very nice, but it needs more action.
Even a simple hand raised to shield the face, or anything to make it look as if he is
not
just standing there, perfectly straight...
Simplicity is nice, I tihnk it needs no more objects..

A different Stephen, a different newsgroup, a different image, a different author.
Sorry for the vague reference.

Hi all,
Thanks for all the comments. I agree with you all. I'll own up to the fact that I
didn't
plan the image, it just sort of happened, and that explains why it seems incomplete,
and
why I'm at something of a loss as to how to improve the blast. I had thought of
stretching
the density pattern along the x axis, but that would look false as all the blast force
should come from the blast origin.

He didn't have time. It all happened so quickly....

Um I think the blast needs to actually blow those peices away, not just
fragment... If you change it so that the peices are flying away from the
blast say from the top of the object it will look a heap better. I'm not
sure what Imagine can do though, so I don't know if you can do it in that
program (maybe bind a meshbomb spacewarp if Imagine has spacewarps).
Maybe adding a little debris might help too...

The Colefax object exploder include file could finish the fragmentation
issue.
