Probably should have gone with a disc in the blower apparatus instead of
the sphere. What's with the "melting" soap bar, if that is indeed what
I'm seeing? Perhaps at least a fairly white color would be best rather
than a lava soap (soap containing pumace, a volcanic ash, used for
scrubbing ability).
I really like these bubbles, alas I have gone to 16-bit color for a much
display so think I may be missing out on a lot here too.

This is a good picture. Only one comment.

If soap bubbles touch each other, the intersecting surface is a plane (a
disk), and not spherical. Now I know it's hard to code this in POV, but
that's the first thing I noticed about the two soap bubbles in front of the
coloured soap bubbles box.

Mogwai - isn't that one of these furry animals wich look a bit like a furby
from one of these SF movies (Critters)?

Actualy I think it's your perspective. I see them as seperated. I also
see them as very well modeled and textured bubbles. A task I have thought
of doing on more than one ocassion and avoided it knowing I had no clue
where to start. The only citisism I have is the puddle under the soap
is too square on it's edges. Seems like a plastic model of what the real
thing would look like.

I really like this one!

Two comments that might improve this fine piece:

I haven't tried iridescense yet put from what I remember about soap
bubbles is that the iridescense under this light conditions should be
much stronger.

Falling soap bubbles sometimes deform by the air currents. Just flatten
them by using some scaling the in up direction.

Go on, I like to see more!

Hmmm... you could be right, but I'm not sure.

That they are.

Exactly, Gremlins, not Critters. That's the one I meant.

I agree, a great pic.

I also agree on the intersection problem -- maybe a csg?

And any contact will be a plane - not just with other bubbles. So the
bubble on the ground would also be a hemisphere-ish thing.

Also, the bubbles look sorta solid - like glass spheres. I can't
exactly say why. Maybe the surface is too clear? Bubbles often seem
just slightly swirly. Or maybe it's an IOR thing -- there's some sort
of
refraction going on that just doesn't feel right.

I'm not trying to be super-critical -- it's a neat pic with nice
composition! It could easily be Stunning with just a few tweaks.
