It was a magazine that was predicting the future after all wasn't it?
In the 40's it's talking about landing on Mars, and no one had even
landed on the moon yet. Why couldn't they have created an original flag
for some yet to be named nation that someone plagarized into the
Canadian flag?

Scott, Now that your image is near finished... Sci Fi Weekly offered up
the latest site of the week: Grand Central Rocket, which has images of
rockets in sci fi movies from the 20's to the 70's. Is their timing
great or what?

Hi Scott,
As a science fiction fan for longer than I care to admitt, I
liked your 50's (sorry, 1948) "magazine cover".
All we need is a story to go with it, maybe over the next couple
of weeks I may have a go at it.
Maybe this will start a new project or thread, trying to create
a text story to go with potential magazine covers.
btw. looking through some old Omni mags, (circa 1980-86), I came
across some fantastic cover illustrations that would make great POV
picture. At the moment I don't have the expertise, time or patience to
do them, but it is a thought for the future.

Spaceways and Assignment Outer Space (early 1950's) have a couple of
multi-stage rockets that are similar to War Between The Planets rocket
(1971). I like the First Spaceship On Venus one most. It, The Terror
From Beyond Space (1958) shows a photo like Scotts Mars rocket, though
its a side view and you can't see the wings; giant fins and/or wings
were quite the fad back then, weren't they...? Some of those other '50's
rockets are the things you always think of too when you think old sci-fi
rocketship.
How about that Woman In The Moon (1929) silent film being over 2 and a
half hours long? Wow. And a unique rocket as well.
