Help,
Three small picture to illustrate the problem:
Rad.jpg: A perforated cylinder, with pointlight inside on a red plane.
Renderd with radiosity on.
Med.jpg: Same scene as above, plus an extra cylinder containing media. No
radiosity.
RadMed.jpg: Same scene again, now with media and radiosity.
How can I avoid the bright red plane behind the media filled container?? Is
it possible at all?

Media and radiosity currently don't work well together. When media samples
are taken, they don't take radiosity information into account. There's
currently no way around this.
BTW, I'm not willing to bet this is correct, but I am pretty sure.

I think the real problem here is that radiosity is only computed for objects
at a trace depth of 1. When a light beam hits the plane behind the media,
it has already exceeded a depth of 1 (because it went through the container,
so radiosity calculations are not done. I'm not sure exactly why this
limitation exists.

After reading this I did two more traces:
RadCont.jpg : Perforated cylinder, plane, mediacontainer without media,
radiosity on.
RMnoCont.jpg : Perforatad cylinder, plane, black box in backgroung, media
without container and radiosity on.
So here I am, with what I wanted to avoid in the first place, slow and
grainy media without a container object.
Well, learned something going trough this.
