Great pic, but I suppose there is no easy way to keep the leaves from
cutting into each other.

Yes you may. Send me a percentage of the "green" (profit) you make off
it, if any. Bet that means 0%
Enjoy 'til the green of the picture gets to you after seeing it more
than an hour, didn't last long as Wallpaper here.

Heck, you already have inspiration about vegetation, I think.
You can find it now with averted vision ;)

Yeah, think it has a lot to do with scale, think smaller. And I only
used cones for the stems to make things simple but I have plucked many a
four-leaf clover (mmmm... half dozen in a lifetime?) that were sticking
out of the ground like these. If you look at clover varieties they are
many and varied. I didn't locate any pictures or info looking like this
but then they are a guess to begin with, at least until spring. Not true
to life.

Gee, no way I know of. The leaves are discs. The clovers are not very
well randomly scattered too. Clumsy translation, rotation, using
'rand()'. Everything ended up clumping near center and spreading out at
edges. Although, this is actually how these things tend to grow I think.
Now you know why the focal blur is there.

I saw the first clover image and thought it was great. I didn't think
it could be improved, but you proved me wrong. I'm curious, what was
the render time for this image? Any possibility of uploading the
source? I have no idea of how to go about making something like this,
but would like to learn.

Thanks.

Actually green is my least favourite colour and still I had a desktop full of
brussels sprouts for a couple of weeks. My icons were sprouts too. It eventually
drove me crazy. Which explains a lot.

Sure, why not. I'll put it in the binaries I think. Might be too long
for the text group (maybe not).
The only difficult part is the taming of the 'rand'. *Controlling*
randomness isn't exactly fun you know. Okay, maybe it is.
I debated using a grid with added randomness for better control of the
overall spatial aspect. But the translate/rotate with increasing change
made for this easy first try. If you see the script it'll make more
sense (not likely though, it is *my* script after all).
Oh yeah, focal blur caused it to be about 3 and a half hours on this
233MMX if I remember right.
And thanks for the interest, Kyle.

Man, that would make a great jigsaw puzzle!

Nice work.

Jigsaw puzzle?! Don't remind me. Put together a Titanic puzzle while on
Christmas visit with relatives (and everyone helped), still can't forget
that. And it had lots of obvious color changes and markings.
Thanks for the compliment, I think...
