Impressive! It only needs a bit more FPS and to be a little longer to
appreciate the dynamics better.

Congratulations,

Fernando.

Is FEMS free? I'm talking about the same kind of free as POV-Ray here...

That tube moves like some kind of plastic. Nice!

I did generate it with more FPS and a lot longer, but what you see is
all that I could squeeze under the 1 Mb limit that applies to this
newsgroup.

I don't want to post larger ones to my web page because I think I'm
getting pretty close to the bandwidth limit of my current provider.

It would also look nicer if it were a mesh2, so that I could apply
uvmapping to it so that you could see the rotation.

It was free back in 1993, but I think he actually sold the copyright to
"BBC Acorn User" in 1994 (back in those days BAU would buy the copyright
of programs it put on its cover disks). I don't know if FEMS is still
available. Doesn't run on PCs or MACs.

Have you tried TMPGENC? It can give excellent quality MPG1s at lower
bitrates. Variable bitrate MPGs can help a lot. If you haven't, I suggest
you to try it.

Fernando.

Michael Attenborough? There's a name I mever thought I'd see on these
groups : A friend of a friend (I didn't know him too well, if at all
though), and an absurdly talented programmer to boot.

I take it you ran the sim on an Arc of some description, as i don't
remember him rewriting FEMS for the PC.

Jamie.

Actually, I ran it on "Virtual A5000" running on my PC.

That would work too :)

Jamie.
