Wow, what a slap! I'm relatively new here, not feeling welcomed.

Ok I've only used 8 different newsreaders on different platforms and
they've all handled multi-part messages. Heck, even Microsoft's free
"Outlook Express" which comes with Windows has handled multi-part
messages since it came out. Linux has many great newsreaders. Perhaps
there are some newsreaders out there that don't handle multi-part
messages? But I'm on a newsgroup, normally people on newsgroups use
basic standard newsreader software. You are acting like this is a non-
standard newsgroup. If that is the case, how was I supposed to know?
You're accusing me of not knowing what I'm talking about, that may be so,
but could you clarify why you are unable to read multi-part messages?

Perhaps by inserting a fireplace in your scene :)

Ok, I've cancelled the multi-part message and am re-posting the MPEG.

This is a nonstandard newsgroup. These newsgroups are not part of USENET,
therefore different rules apply.

I have explained why it is in your own interest not to post multipart
messages. And you meanwhile also have complied with that suggestion
(thanks for that). If you want to discuss the advantages of posting
attachments distributed on several messages you are free to do so in
povray.off-topic.

Coming back to on-topic, the artefacts can probably only be avoided by
slower radiosity settings but the flickering in the animation is only
because the radiosity calculations are made again for every frame as it
seems. This also unnecessarily slows down the render. Saving and reusing
the radiosity data will probably help a lot.

I thought of that, but the statue is rotating and I read in the Povray
help: "it is not a good idea to save and load radiosity data if scene
objects are moving". I'll try it anyhow and see what happens.

Oh, well i thought only the camera is moving. If not you can't do
anything but use better quality rad settings.

Dropped radiosity, can't get it to not make noise in animation even with
high settings. Tried with just an HDRI, still no lights, only reflective
statue. Works out good, this time I'm using a home-made HDRI light probe
of my living room and there is only windows at one end of the room, still
nice effect. Just like a simple sphere map, I guess? Could probably be
done in real-time on a modern PC/3D card.

I'm only posting this in WMV this time because it's a 640x480 video and
MPEG doesn't do it justice. I'd love to hear your complaints, thank you.

Welcome to the newsgroup "None". ;-)

I thought that was quite an interesting animation, and I felt you could use
some positive feedback. I've messed around with animations now and then,
and have had bad luck with radiosity as well. However, using HDRI certainly
makes it look sweet!

I hope to see more from you.

You've not hat a lot of feedback but I think it is very nice looking. I don't
know if I like the porcelain or silvered effect best.
