Very cool!
I think the dancers should come FROM earth and not dance towards earth
(unless you want to symbolize reincarnation)...
another suggestion: Earth should be smaller and standing still - I know
this is hard for an animator NOT to rotate it...;-)

Good effort, Stephen :)

Suggestion: Having all the cool dancing skeletons be perfectly in sync
looks unnatural. You have to somehow make the dancers slightly out of sync
with each other. :)

Thanks for the criticism it is much appreciated. The symbolism is taken from
"Death's jest book" by "Thomas Lovell Beddoes" illustrating Hans Holbein's The
Dance of Death. It shows everyday scenes of death and dying in the 16th century.
http://www.godecookery.com/macabre/holdod/holdod.htm
Death is represented by a skeleton. This animation is Death setting out to visit
Earth. (Pretentious, or what?)
My wife agrees with you that the Earth should be smaller about the size of the
Moon as seen from the Earth. I made it large to give a sense of unreality along
with the hand drawn mountains.

How very true:-} Less is more in this case, then.

Each row needs to be in sync to get the animation to loop but the columns could
be out of sync with each other. There are 43 skeleton meshes in a cycle and in
this animation there is only one mesh per frame, copied a lot of times. I wanted
it to look unnatural or supernatural.

I don't know the book but in my mind death can be symbolized by one
skeleton. When there are more than one they are the 'harvest" of death
IMO...
But as said before I don't know the book and its intention...
I wish you a Merry Christmas full of life...;-)

Yes, one death per person. As each person has a guardian angle so they have
their individual Death. Because we all die alone. I am making this up as I go
along :-}

Unless you are interested in macabre poetry or Hans Holbein's art don't bother.

Thank you, I return the complement and hope it is a long life for you too. Lang
may yer lum reek.

Things would be funny if one skeleton behaves clumsy and drops it's head or
stumbles.

What about a nice audio track. Perhaps you can synchronize the skeletons'
dance with Chopin's Funeral March... (or vice versa)

Nice idea. I have never tried to add a sound track as I'm generally trying to
reduce the file size. Just now I am trying to do something "funny" but have been
ill so I don't know when I'll get it finished. One thing I've been taking strong
pain killers so I don't think it will be realistic.
