I'm not sure about the pancakes but it occurred to me that with
the ridges he might apply for a role on Star Trek.

About the lips: perhaps some lipstick would work. I'm serious
here: a bit of colour might be enough. 
Another idea might be to add a cylinder component to the blob
slightly larger then the cylinder you cut out for his mouth.

I also realized that these test animations give a slightly
distorted view, or actually, an undistorted view that stresses
certain things I otherwise wouldn't notice. If for instance, he
would move his head a bit while talking you would get a better
'impression' (as opposed to an exact image).

Imagine an entire galaxy filled with bipedal Caucasians, varying only in the
amount of latex on their noses.... Dr. Who did better with
low-budget-plausibility on this one....
But seriously, that was actually my chin pancake stack butting through the
side of the head.  I fixed it later.

Aha. I could do this with the object function a slightly larger object than
the object used to cut the mouth hole, then just make it pink.

I considered a solution like this that worked perfectly in being true to the
jaw rotation but it wouldn't have worked with a mouth changing shape in the
'x' as it made lip-sync shapes.

yeah, cool.  Thanks for the consideration..........
Now I have 'writer's block' as far as a storyline involving 'speed' and this
character.
