Yes, I can see that. It's a result of how turbulence works in POV-Ray,
which I use though the vturbulence macro. Turbulence has some abrupt
changes some places.
Unfortunately I don't have any ideas for how to avoid it, but I'll keep
trying to find one.

Hrm. Watching one of mine now. because 've got so many fans in my computer,
the turbulance starts almost as son as the smoke particles leave the embers

I was comparing your animation with the pics that TinCanMan
posted. The pics were quite a bit more blue, but they were
on a total black background.
And it still looks incredible!
