There are quite some possibilities that I want to try out with this new
technique before I make it into an include file.
Here's a test of simulated wind blowing in the grass. I think it looks
interesting, and yet something's not quite right. Any ideas?
(BTW, I'll work on improving the interaction with the two balls and their
shadows later.)

I think the areas of little gusts are too small.

As Bill said, the wind gusts cover too small areas, also, the
actual movement is quiet to fast and jerky IMHO.

To me it looks like the grass is dancing. :)

It has the potential, but the problem is simple- the grass looks too
"constrained". Real grass would move more slowly and gracefully, and in wider
swaths. However, you have a great start on getting it to do what you want.
On reviewing it, the animation shows that the blades appear rigid and they
seem topivot from their bases. Actual grass blades bend in the middle. Is that
possible with your texture?
Cheers!

Thanks Bill and Tim, I'll try to fix that.
