I've lately been kinda obsessed with Futurama and it's animation. Sooo,
to honor my new-found interest, here's a .MPG of a Planet Express Look
alike landing on a barren, brown planet. I looked at a FR show I
recorded and think it looks pretty much the same.
I uploaded a tut to p.t for a more detailed look at how I did this.
Enjoy and Comment!

Perversion of POV-Ray should have been part of your subject line or
description.
Just kidding, it's really great stuff. The landing gear doors swing a
little to far, going into the wings, but I suppose you already knew
that.
See too much of this and I'll forget I want to see non-cartoon renders
;-)
Aside from the cartoonism, it's also good stuff in the way this was
done.

Bob

This is exactly what I have been wanting to do for years. Ever since
"The Animaniacs" came on. This impresses me in a way that your other, more
detailed scenes do not (not that they don't impress me, it's just not the
same way).

Now I will have to learn how, like I really have enough time to do that.

Wonderful!!!
It would very cool if someone make a cartoon with povray.
Perhaps he can to distribute it after (who knows) :)
perhaps not for Dysney but there is others company.

Fabian.

Very good work HE! It almost looks like the real thing. Except, their
animation feels smoother. You know? And of course, higher res, but that
doesn't matter. Excellent work. I'm working on a little toy car right now,
using your tutorial.

I know I'm kinda late responding to this, but I've only just started
reading the POV-RAY newsgroups. That's one cool animation! I tried
to find the tutorial (I'm asuming p.t is one of the povray newsgroups?)
but couldn't find it anywhere. Could anyone show me where I might
find it?

Cheers,

I think it's the Cartoon Tut! message in povray.text.tutorials group dated
about the same as his animation here (May 2000).
You might need to go into your newsreader settings to add more newsgroups
within news.povray.org (Subscribe) if you don't already see it listed.

Got it now. Cheers Bob. Couldn't find it before because my
newsreader had decided to expire most of the articles in that
group.
