About once a month I get an email asking "I have rendered my scene
file but I cannot figure out how to save the image to my hard drive.
Please help, J.L.".

I stand corrected <sigh>.

I thought everyone knew to press alt-printscreen and paste into a graphics
package....

No, that's not at all true. Windows 9x definately has multiuser support. Go
to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Users.

Although, since it will probably be a minority of users that will need this,
perhaps you should just document how to change it if you need to, instead of
making it an install option. But either way, the program should *look* in
both places.

Or have been installing POV the old way for so long they assume they did see
that question asked while installing. ^_^*

And even better, one can't even be sure if a user runs as Administrator on
NT/2k/etc because at least I know plenty of people who have no clue that
they shouldn't run that way by default...

I think that in the Home Edition of Windows XP, all users are
Administrators.

Actually, I'm not sure that's true, but I'm also not sure what I can
say about that, so I'll keep my mouth shut.

Wouldn't this all depend on the user and the machine he's on? If your using
a home machine which you and ONLY you use and you have taken reasonable
security precautions, and is fairly well versed in windows, then I don't see
much of a problem running in Admin all the time.
