Hi!

This is a little something I've been thinking 'bout:

For modelling organic objects, I've been using sPatch 'till I founded
Hamapatch that still is in developing process (not stopped an lost as
sPatch).

My problem is that when I've done all the work in Hamapatch, I have to
export it to sPatch, and then, from sPatch, export it to Moray.

What about a plugin to export directly from hamapatch to Moray, or a plugin
to import hamapatch files into Moray?. There would be no limitations on
layers (sPatch only allow 8), and sPatch will not be needed anymore as a
middle step to export to Moray files created with Hamapatch.

It's just a wish, I don't know if it's possible or not.

Comments?

Does Hamapatch have export filters? Or is the file format
well-defined? I guess it probably wouldn't be all that difficult if
the files were easy to read....

As far as I have seen in the folder where it's the program there's one file
called hamapatch.exe (1.08 Mb) and these other ones:
hama.ini (1,360 bytes)
hama_resource_type.ini (7 bytes)
hama_shorcut.ini (696 bytes)
hama_wnd.ini (82 bytes)

There are no external plugins files.
I have no idea if the file format is well-defined (I am no programmer at
all).

I'll send an e-mail to its author to ask about the possibility to implemet a
way to export to Moray, and I'll tell you the answer (if I get one).

Thanks anyway Lutz

No, I wouldn't say that its particularly easy to read- here is a tube:

light_info
material_info wnd_info A B

A B background_info include_file

No idea how one sorts out all this gibberish.
OTOH, it does export to sPatch files, so perhaps a Moray plugin to import sPatch
files would be in order(and I'm pretty sure that those are easily readable),
rather than just the sPatch plugin. Or, one could just export to sPatch files,
load it in sPatch, then export it to Moray. A little roundabout, but easier than
writing a plugin.

It's a binary format, so it's probably hard to parse if you don't have
the specs.

Now who might you be talking about? :-) Touche...

But that is why Moray has a plugin interface to get at all the stuff.
