Hello, folks. Once again, its time for the GUMP. The GUMP, for you new
comers to this NG, is the Grand Unified Modeling Project, which will
submit an IRTC entry into this months competition(Topic: Unbelievable).
I will be able to participate this time, as the amount of schoolwork I
have is dying down. The binaries will probably be posted on
moray.binaries, so we can unify our work. Anyone who is interested,
respond to this post.

You better believe I'm in. I can't wait to do this again :-) How about
some possible scenes?
Here are a few off the top of my head.
Topic: Unbelievable
1) A space shuttle flying over an Indian Village. Don't ask ;-)
2) A remake of an Escher print.
3) A wizard's workshop. Containing all sorts of strange devices and
contraptions.
4) An alien circus. I won't even start at trying to describe this one
;-)
5) Some sort of flying city in the clouds. With little flying cars
buzzing around. Just like Cloud City in the Star Wars movie.
6) A village in the tree tops. Like the kind elves or lephracans might
live in.... With smoke coming out of the little chimneys.
Well, that's all I've got right now. More suggestions anyone? Comments,
etc.

I Like #2 and #3 and would like to add :
7)A desert scene with mountains far away (like viewed from Las Vegas) in the
foreground :
A glass of wine, a carafe (floating in the air) pouring its wine in the
glass, a grand piano placed vertically on the rim of the glass, but you can
feel the balance is not easy to keep, so a giant dove feather (I insist on
the dove) keep the grand piano from falling.
Once we have those 4 elements we can make permutations all across the desert
: The glass on the feather while the grand piano is pouring wine in the
carafe .....

I personally like to try for originality of concept/theme, so I was thinking- it
can be unbelievable- but can it have happened? Did anyone believe that we could
launch rockets into space, that we could build buildings hundreds of feet tall,
that we could create energy from matter, before any of these things were
invented?
Of course, we COULD always do the sort of Dali-esque thing that Phillipe
suggested.

I'm in, but I can't work on it as hard as I did with the first GUMP.
I thaught about putting futuristic objects in an old-looking scene (like a
western), but don't ask me for details...
Or a Giger or Escher-like image.

Interested, but no guarantees. If I knew that last round's GUMP was not
cancelled, I would have helped with that, too.

I just thought of an idea- a world thats all chrome and gold, and shiny,
reflective metals, perhaps metal trees, etc, with a single, solitary
colored item, reflected in the somewhat drab universe a million times over.
Hell of a rendering time, but perhaps someone here has a nice computer.
