I downloaded the newest compile of Moray 3.1 and there's still nothing
listed under the plugins section. Anyone else having this problem?

Joe

Lens Flare is part of the Create Tab. If you are running less than
1024x768 resolution on your screen, you won't be able to see the Lens
Flare button. Place the mouse over a gray area and it will become a hand,
click and hold to drag the menu up to be able to see the Lens Flare.

Thanks for your prompt response. However, the first place I looked was under
the create tab, and at the bottom there's a spot for plugins...and the spot
is blank. Any ideas?

Ok, check your Moray folder and see if the Plugins folder has anything in it.
From what I understand all you have to do is place the associated DLL plugin in
that folder and the next time you launch Moray it will load the plugin.

Yuk. I already did that too. Have you run out of ideas yet, or do you feel like
running another one by me?

Thanks,
   Joe

Your terminology is a bit confusing. What is the 'plugin section'?

A plugin does not have to add menu items, so you may not even notice
(at first) that a plugin has been loaded.

To find out whether a plugin is loaded, check whether it is listed in
the dialog that pops up when you select View|Loaded Plugins.

If it isn't, then the plugin is not loaded. This could have two
reasons:
 - The DLL isn't in the correct place.
 - It's not a Moray Plugin.

The second option you can disregard for the standard plugins. The
first problem can be verified by going into the View|Configuration
dialog and the Advanced Tab. Check where the 'Directory to search for
Plugin DLLs' is pointing. Make sure the DLLs can be found there.

Let me know if it still isn't working.

Hi Lutz,
Thanks for your response to my message. I used your suggestions regarding
the plugins, and I'm afraid they still won't work. Perhaps I should've
mentioned this before, but I had previously uninstalled Moray 3.1 manually
(the automatic uninstallation failed). Does that help?

Thanks again,
Joe

I had something similar:

When I installed Moray 3.1 I still had Moray registry entries left from
previous Moray installations (among them the 3.1 beta), even though the
previous installations had already been deinstalled.
After installing 3.1 I didn't see the Plug-Ins in the Creation Tab.
However, because of the old registry entries I also had troubles with older
search paths spooking around and with a missing MorayPoly.inc and other
problems, so I had good reasons to re-install.

So this is what I did: I uninstalled Moray 3.1 again, then I went into the
registry by hand and deleted the Moray keys in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\SoftTronics and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SoftTronics. Then I installed 3.1 again, and
everything went fine, with the Plugins too.

Hope it helps,
Johannes.

"Won't work" as in? Are they listed in the View|Loaded Plugins dialog
or not?

Sorry about that -- I mean the plugins don't appear anywhere, not in the
View|Loaded Plugins dialog or anywhere.

Joe
