O.k. I went through the round, there are three people with real names and if you
click their names older submissions show up. For the rest, there is only this
one submission. Something must have gone wrong when resetting the passwords. At
least it did for me.

Hmm... I guess this is to say that your submission must have been ignored during
voting (and still continues to be ignored) by the software, right?

No good.

I'm working at making the comments visible. The comments are there but
are not being displayed. I should have that corrected by the end of the
weekend.

As I mentioned earlier, I have a volunteer to help with the code for the
web site. He has more time than I do right now so he will be doing most
of the work at this point. He's currently working on the voting system.
He'll be putting a summary page showing all your votes on all images.
He's working on using Ajax to clean up the submission process so that
comments aren't lost when you look at the image or change the star
rating. He's also looking at using lightboxes to display the image.
Finally, we're looking at changing the voting scheme to be a 20 point
scale with 20 point scales for technical, artistic and conceptual merit.

We're also setting things up so you don't vote on your own image.

Thanks for your patience with the site and your helpful comments. I
realize that it's been a rough launch of the site, but it has taught us
more about the site than if we had held off the launch for several months.

Thanks
David Buck

No problem, David.
At the time of writing you have exactly 44 days, 16 hours, 5 minutes, 35
seconds. ;-)

The comments from the last voting round of the IRTC have now been made
visible. I apologize for the delay.

Well, I just realized the same thing happened to me apparently - i.e., my old
submissions aren't showing up either (but there were only a couple of them).

David, will you please merge these back in for me when you have time?

Also, I just realized I got 2nd place in the testing round (I'm not very
observant sometimes), so thanks everyone :)

I can explain that.

When developing the new site, I didn't have direct access to the
accounts of the old site. I captured the information by simply
screen-scraping it. Any time I came across the name of a person (a
submitter or a commenter), I created it as a user. If it was a
submitter, I associated the submission with that user.

When the new site was activated, people started logging in with new user
id's and submitting images. It's very hard to automatically match up new
users to old users, so I've been doing it on a pre-request basis. I
have an admin function where I can locate an old user and re-assign all
of the submissions for that user to a new user name. I just did that
for Robert. If anyone else notices that their old images aren't
associated to their new accounts, let me know and I'll fix it.
