(1)
Ctrl-W to close window

(2)
Editor>>preference>>misc>>Line Numbering
shows line numbering only for one window, anyway to show it for ALL window?

(3)
What is the cyan bar on the left for? I assumed that to be the line number
display area, but it is not. aka Left Margin

(4)
Notepad++, Opera, have zoom function.
where you hold down Ctrl and use scroller on mouse to change the font
display.

(5)
recent file list should be together with nEW and oPEN Menu.

(6)
a Window Menu would be more useful instead of putting the list of opened
windows under fILE

Thank you
just my 2 cent observation & frustration

Try using a mouse emulator
http://www.geocities.com/pronto4u/mouseemulator.html
for a month or so, for me, it increases my ability to spot UI issues. Which
can be a really pain for keyboard user.

This is a default setting as of (I think) 3.61a. If for some reason it's not
set for you, choose the keyboard tab of the editor properties dialog; you can
set it there.

Not at this point. I might add it though.

Bookmarks indicators. Potentially other things at some point.

This is not a common feature in code editors. Not to say it won't get done,
but it's not high on my list right now.

Not sure what you mean by this. If you mean it should be near the top, I
don't think this would be a good idea.

Actually the File menu doesn't have a list of opened windows at all (except
by co-incidence, in that the recent file list at the bottom of that menu will
include some of the open windows).

I agree it would be nice to have a window menu.

User Interface Design for Programmers

came across this interesting piece by joel. I particularly like the
description in regards to the mouse, in our UI development, we often times
take a lot for granted, forgetting about other not so typical usage, for
example working on stylus tablet.

The misused mouse, part 2: A proposal for a nearly mouseless interface.

((I read this on /. today, nice and simple solution to mouseless world,
clearly defined that mouse for discrete action can be a slowdown))

just an idea (zoom function for render window)
for the render window, is it possible to add a zoom function. like gimp or
photoshop to zoom in or out to preview, and also the hand tool to move
around the zoom.

The scenario that I usually do is, render the image (320x200 for preview),
then use explorer.exe to open the folder open the render bmp file, for
"window picture and fax viewer" to zoom in.

additionally it would be good if it can memorise and remember the zoom that
set from previous render of the same pov file.

Maximize the preview window. Does more or less the same thing, though you
don't have control of zoom of course. You'd probably not gain much from
zooming a 320x240 image much larger than full-screen anyhow.

Actually, typically I would render the file, switch to explorer, open
windows&fax viewer to zoom in. Typically I am working on monitors at
1280x1024 or 1024x768 so the image is rather small at 320x240 to see.
Guessed you are right about gaining much from zooming. Guessed it is a
craving to see it before I rendered it into 800x600.
