So my GC is better than yours when you're on a much better system than
I have?
I don't get it. :(

Well, I have Vista, but the graphics cards on prebuilt systems (HP
Pavilion) are usually low-end even if everything else is
top-of-the-line. 'Course, this comp. also came with a video capture
card, and that works fine...actually there aren't many things that
really need good graphics cards. I don't use Aero, so it's even less of
an issue.

Hmmm, the Pavilion I have has a 6150LE in it; I don't know if that's high-
end or not; the system came with Vista Home on it (ugh), but I didn't try
any of the Aero effects out. With OpenSUSE 10.3, though, I get excellent
performance out of the card for XGL effects as well as regular OpenGL
programs.

6xxx -> GeForce 6 series. (Current = 8 series.)
x150 -> low number -> low-end. (Compared to other 6 series models. Can't
easily compare between different series.)
LE -> Light Edition -> lower-end.
(OTOH, endings like GT or GTX mean "suped up".)

Interesting. The new Dell laptops we have at work come with... an nVidia
Quadro graphics card. (Yes, those are the ones that cost £2k each.) Hmm...

It's not that hard. Destroy the hunters, then the strider, save.
Go to the next strider and repeat. If you die, continue from the savepoint.
Repeat until you have killed them all. (You should keep a "backup" save
of the the beginning of the situation just in case you save in the wrong
place and can't continue from there.)

It's the "destroy the hunters" part that I can't pull off. They're
almost indestructible. I mean, I managed to kill one of them, but now I
have almost no ammo left at all. I used all of it to kill just one hunter!

That's all good advice... If only I always followed it! :-S

After beating it, I learned that hunters have a vulnerability to
automobile tires moving at around 45mph / 72kph.
First time through, I spent all the shotgun ammo on the first few
hunters, then switched between the crossbow and any grenade/rocket on
hand. That took more saves and restarts then I care to admit.

Yeah - good luck hitting them though. It's almost impossible to drive
that vehicle! I mean, it's difficult to hit the *road*, never mind a
bunch of nimble-footed metal cylopses...

I guess that's what it comes down to. The only way I'm going to complete
this thing is by spending several very boring days playing and replaying
the same 4 minutes of gameplay until I get lucky. *sigh*
