Oh! So that's what it means. I must get a new one then :)

BTW No one mentions a 4 day stay in hospital without wanting to talk about it.

You can tell me I'm a first aider and a sympathetic listener. All in the
strictest confidence, you understand. :)

I hope that it wasn't too serious. No one likes a visit there especially not at
Christmas time.

Indeed. I visited hospital once, and it was miserable. And I was only in
there for about 20 minutes. Went to visit my mum. Not sure why we
bothered though... she was so totally out of it.

They gave her a box with a button on it. When you press the button, it
injects morphine into the drip. She had her thumb pressed down on that
button continuously, with a vice-like grip. [Obviously, the machine cuts
out once the maximum dose is reached. I doubt my mum would have
understood such a concept at that moment...]

Nothing wrong with hospitals. I do sometimes three in one day.
Last august when I had overstretched my ankle I had to stay at home for
nearly two weeks. I was really glad to be recovered enough to go to the
hospital again. But I guess that does not count ;)

I got some munchies and cocoa from some of my students, and a big bag of
peanut M&Ms from my wife.

I got a horse for my daughter.

Hmm...My sister and I got (jointly) a bunch of stuff for doing
scrapbooking...including a bunch of funky pinking-shears-type scissors,
for cutting out things with cool borders...

Well, between smoke, dials not working, and the strange rattling sound
it started making. Eventually even I can recognize when a machine has
just given up.

Yeah they do, when it's people who have spent enough time in and out of
hospitals that it really is just another way to spend a weekend. I
forget that humor doesn't translate all that well to the internet at large.

For comparison, my extended family's response was, "Well, I hope they
fed you better than last time."

Hmm, strictest confidence on public usenet that gets picked up by
google? Our definitions differ some where. Even medical latin would
indexable, and really out of place in this group.

Oh, I could describe my stay in pov code, that would work!

You know, all the times I asked for a pony, a baby brother, and a race
car, I figured it was just to pad my list to make the other stuff look
more reasonable.
