I presented a few variations when I originally devised the logo:

Two of them (plus a 2d-version) are already on this page:
http://runevision.com/misc/povraylogo/logodisplay/
As for the sky-one and the glow-one, I'd be happy to include them if you
could re-render them where the logo has its current official rotation.
(I can include the beach-one as it is, since it's already apparent in
that image that the camera-angle is not straight-on.)
Also, if you have any comments on the process of coming up with the
logo, or any other comments to the POV-Ray Logo or the POV-Ray Logo
Contest as seen from your point of view, I'd like to put them on the
page.

I realized I had some more:

http://www.povray.org/ftp/pub/short/short/ks1_800.JPG
and from others:

Hmm, the primary goal of these images were to write them with compact
code, and I think it is quite visible. They don't show off the logo as
well as they could have if it weren't for the artificial limitation in
code size.
Writing short code is fine for the Short Code Contest, but for creating
stunning images it's not very effective. I prefer stunning images of the
POV-Ray logo rather than less stunning images that happen to have a
short source code.
That being said, I think the image
http://www.povray.org/ftp/pub/short/short/ks0_800.JPG
is quite nice in its own merits.

Of course, but on the other hand when you want to show power of some GUI you
just show how quickly you can reach desired result. Short code is the same for
scripts. All those short code writers just answer to qestion "how small amount
of high level command/primitives/programming constructions do you need to
achive some object". At least that's what I appreciate in short codes:
reaching simpified but existing objects. Astracts are nice too but somehow
less attractive since it's more kind of playing than reaching ;-)

Right.

Sure. As I said there's nothing wrong with it. It's just not the kind of
images I'm looking for to show off the POV-Ray Logo in a possible
gallery on the POV-Ray Logo Contest page.
