Back in the early days of raytracing and POVray Miker Miller was one
of the famous artists. He made some beautifil pictures. Can please
someone tell me where I can find his scenefiles. I know there are a
lot. And what happened to him?

A few of Mike's scenes may still be included with the POV-Ray package
but Mike did not always post his scene source. If any are included with
the demo scenes they are likely not public domain, but included for your
enjoyment.

Mike dropped from sight many years ago and efforts both by individuals
and the POV-Team have failed to find him online. I was told that when
Mike was active on CompuServe with the POV-Team, he was always willing
to help out people with questions about writing scenes.

Our hope that Mike is doing well and that his absence is by choice and
not circumstances.

Has anyone out there heard from Mike Miller in recent years?

A few people have asked about Mike and his source files over the
past few years and no one has heard from him that I know of. I
have given the same basic reply that you have here.

I got a CD-Rom than contain several images and sources from Mike
Miller and Truman Brown. I'll have a look soon (once the new year's
stuff will be over), and will tell here what I got.

He (with Truman Brown) defined the first "POV-style", I think.
And, even by today's standards, his images are amazing !

Fabien.

Hi Alan. Is it possible to direct me to some of his images, please? I'd
like to see some of them if I may.

While I'm here, I'd like to wish everyone a Happy New Year, and maybe a
'prosperous' one! Lets hope so! :o)

I've got the official POV-Ray CD-ROM (Walnut Creek) and this may
include some of Mike's work. Is that the disk you have, Fabien? I'll
take a look sometime today. What day is today, anyway? Just kidding.

I have seen at least one posted on the 'net but since there was no
information about the image or Mike Miller I didn't bookmark the page.
It was the one showing eyeballs being fed into a hand-operated meat
grinder and ground meat coming out. Not for the PETA-sensitive ;) This
isn't what I call typical of Mike's work, though.

See also my reply to Fabien Mosen.

Funny, but not what I expected. But then again, I didn't really know
what to expect. All the more reason to remind ourselves what these forums
are about. Is it possible to put some of his images up on a site somewhere,
(from the CD's)? If he was rendering good pictures from the start of POVray
then he must have had a *ZING* about himself, and the 'new' product. Don't
ALL Povers have this though?

I knew that. This are the sourcefiles I have today.

atrium, benz1, camera, cup, palace, dragon5, dragon11, enlarge, jack,
kettle, logo, meat1, plant,

and of course the ones included with POV.

BTW I also have the source file DIVER but the pipes.inc file is
missing, if anyone could help me?
