I lived in Seattle area 15 years from 1970 to 1985 (my growing pain years), and all I
have to say is: Yuck! Sorry. I did like it in it's own way though, many fun and fond
memories. But sheesh, that drizzly grey sky stuff is terrible. I like the slightly
more
dynamic weather of my birthplace, Alabama, much better. Warmer with shorter winters,
and
not too drastically dynamic a clime at that.
Oh yeah, Renton eh? How about that Renton Loop? Had to cruise that as a teenager a
time
or three. My brother works at Boeing in Renton btw.

Hi Tony B. Are you implying my great world map is askew or some such thing? Heh-heh.
Panama is a rather thin bit of land afterall and you're marker might be more in the
Gulf
of Mexico than on dry land. Not sure. But if you are talking about the marker closest
to
yours to the north, well, that's Florida and somehow I doubt that person could be
lonely
at all there in such a densely populated state ;)
Oh, I get it. You're saying "above" as in over the Panama area of the map. Or YOU in
other words. Yeah, bet you are lonely, huh...? Just kidding!

No, you're not seeing things. That's two (yes, 2) close neighbors of yours in Ottawa.
About the listing of persons and related info: despite some people willing to share
their info I can't see it as feasible. Many did not leave email addresses for one
thing.
I've thought this same thing over several times with the conclusion it is too messy a
proposition as is. It would either (1.) require a resubmittal/contact by all or (2.)
only be partial info for sending out/posting. The prime importance would be the
acquisition of everyones permission to redistribute. If I had the forethought to do so
I
would have asked also for the right to hand over all of it to anyone else and I did
not.
Sending it out to everyone with a supplied email address isn't totally out of the
question I would think, I just hate the idea of trying that since part of the reason
some people may have participated to begin with was due to a single person (me) being
sole caretaker of their information. I could be completely wrong, but hey like I say,
there isn't a reasonable way to find out or unless a partial set were to be done (or
redone, as the case may be) and I'm not really doing any more than gathering and
updating. Sorry folks, the main reason I'm putting it this way is due to other things
I've heard about people not wanting their personal info spread around, plus the fact
it
would be another task to start sorting in a way altogether different from the current
one.
The concept of internet technology demographics and the plotting on this particular
map
is a interesting one. To me only some places make sense and others do not. Not only
that, but the oddity (irony?) of some clusters of people very close to each other is
moreso fascinating. We would probably have to see the exact cultural settings to make
a
judgement. In my particular instance there are 3 locales plotted nearly in the same
place (including myself) and it is a region where the NASA space program, among other
such high-tech things, are occupants also of this area. Yet I do not have any ability
to
say a similar thing of other places.

Guess what... No. Okay, I'll tell you then. That Macapa, Brazil marker is an error.
Now
talk about a lonely poor sole, non-existant even!
Thankyou Chris M. for causing me to look it up. Turns out I had mistakenly switched
the
latitude and longitude numbers for London, England. *blush* I am so ashamed! I would
never have realized that if you hadn't brought it up and there was no email address of
the person it concerned, so sorry to you too, Londoner. Where ever you are J. W.,
there
isn't another person besides you in London, yet). Luckily it appears to be shown
already
marked (not really, just close by).

Yes, good point. Ask away of anyone, anyhow, I just don't dare start throwing email
addresses around like confetti.

Somerville, AL here btw ;)

My sister-in-law lives just outside Detroit in Flint and my brother
lives just outside Seattle in Redmond. Does that count ? Probably
not since neither one uses the program but you asked.

Thank you Ken T., it does make much sense not to begin listing people and places even
here I believe and you spoke for me well.
I know who the "Aussie" is in Perth. Only problem is I found there to be a
impersonator
there as well. Namely the same person apparently. I had a integer number set of
coordinates along with a decimal precision set. No more ghosting in the next update.
Thanks to you Lance B. another error discovered. Gosh, I am beginning to wonder how
many
mistakes are present now. Not to worry though, I have reason to believe there is about
99.9% accuracy for now, plus or minus 1% ;)

I am in lower Michigan, but didn't get the coordinates for the map. I am
right next to the MI-IN state line.(About 1/2 mile from it, in fact. So
close that we run on Indiana time instead of Michigan time.)

Great map - nice one :)

Though (heh, there's always one, sorry ;)
..the European map entries seem a little out of place? There doesn't seem
to be that many in, for example, the south-east of England (one of the most
densely populated areas - including London, as well as where I live [and
submitted]) doesn't seem to have anyone. There does appear, however, to be
at least a couple of people living 70 or so miles out at sea... one off the
coast of Wales and another the coast of Ireland.

Now if the locations (for the UK at least) where shifted a little east and
south - then not only would these people reach dry land again, but the
south-east would look a bit more populated. OK.. I know there population
density doesn't necessarily have anything to do with where POV users
"should" be.. but it just seemed to make a bit more sense when combined with
the sea-people problem :)

OK.. so maybe I'm just being pedantic - either way, still a very well made
and interesting map Bob :)

I'm in Southfield. If you go find the original thread that led up to this,
I think you'll find the other MI person.
