Hmm, you may be right.... Sure you are a teenager (Lance)? You don't
sound it much. I was thinking the funny paradox about things like age.
In a case such as this the eldest teenager is ousted from the club, so
to speak, rather soon; and even for the 13 year old there's a mere 6
years of being a member of that club. Those six years are nearly
infinite of course from the 13 year olds viewpoint, however it is only
temporary still. The average pov-teen (ha, pov-teen, get it? Future
POV-Team people? um, yeah, ok...) seems to be 17, isn't it? So there
would be a very short-term membership by a relative few, in what is, and
may well be as time goes on, comparitively a long-term society of
POVers.
Even if that idea never becomes realized here there is certainly no
stopping a clustering of groups (of any kind) through their own means.
Btw, what am I doing in the Re:Peter Popov thread? LOL
Consider this moved out again into the appropriate one.

I'll take that as a HUGE compliment thank you :)
I try to be civilised and adult-like anyway :)

At 16 though I still am not really taken seriously by many people...
Especially when it comes to things like graphic design... It's a very
stereotypical problem: "he's just some KID that THINKS he knows what he's
doing!". That's the kind of reception I get a lot...

Oh, and by the way, can I get some feedback on a website I just finished?
It can be found at:
http://www.fortunecity.com/skyscraper/parallax/359/colorblind

It's called Colorblind...

Most of the JavaScript doesn't work in Netscape... :-( I'll have to try to
figure out what's wrong there... and it's designed for 1024x768 in
Truecolor, but should run just fine in 800x600.

THANKS!!!

I went to this web page link before using Netscape and I thought it
didn't load right, the intro5.gif didn't seem to be there. I just now
see you say NS isn't right for it so I tried this time with MS IE and it
crashed after a lengthy delay. Seemed to get stuck in the middle and
then intermittantly gave a download count but didn't appear to progress
further. I use AOL and was signed off abruptly with several "Connect"
notices popping up imediately afterward. I had a idle timer on (to
prevent dis-connection) which I always use when going here since AOL
will tend to interupt me if I don't, so it seemed to be the webpage that
did it anyhow. I then used NS again and the pages did fine, no 'bgsound'
of course ('embed' is needed for NS) except that intro5.gif appears to
be just a black void (correct for this?).
Your creation seems to be pretty professional to me. And at least
partially functional too (99% using NS?).

I've tried it on a few other computers and connections and so far using IE
haven't had any problems... I noticed a few things with NS... like the left
nav bar seems to be squashed a little (it adds on a margin, even though I
specifically set it to zero... anyone know how to fix this?), the JS doesn't
work properly of course... well, at least the bit for the nav bar and the
entry page... I'll have to figure that out, NS seems to treat 'if' and
'else' statements a little differently it seems... I'll hopefully be able to
fix these problems so that it's totally reliable in both browsers...
intro5.gif is a totally black panel only it has a small dark blue border
around the outside (so maybe it's just dark on your computer). intro6.gif
SHOULD appear when you put the mouse over intro5.gif but this doesn't seem
to work in NS yet, a little more tweaking and hopefully I'll get it to
work...

Thanks for your comments, I've gained a little more info...

BTW, the Newsgroup for povray.teens was rejected. (yes, thought I'd tell
you know so we don't keep talking about it! ;-)

I suspected as much about the black gif with blue border (yes, it's
there). I have no idea why IE crashed while loading it otherwise I might
have been able to see the mouseover happen. NS did rather well by
comparison, but heck, anything is better than what IE did (thru AOL as I
said before I think). Wish I knew java script better, I looked the
source over and failed to see a problem. NS is not very "frames"
friendly, you may not have a solution except to exclude it using the
java to distinguish from it and setup an alternate entry page.
Frustrating, isn't it...?

I'll consider povray.teens topic closed then.

Sage advice if I do say so myself.

Yeah, maybe that's the only answer... I'll look into the JavaScript first
and then I'll try to figure out a way to fix the frames... (looks like an
alternative entry is the only way... not that it's very hard to do I guess,
just an inconvenience)

I'd do a variant in RoboTalk, except that the language is unable to handle
strings...
