Been somewhat busy making music basically the whole summer, but at last I'm back
in business with POV again as well. =)

Here's my latest one for my rooster game project:

Nice mood ! Sorry for my systematic question, but since I'm trying to gather
our very own little hall of fame, I do have to ask : did you use Blender and our
exporter, or what else otherwise?

Cheers! =)

This scene of mine is built and rendered solely in POV. Just a slight color
adjustment in Corel Photo Paint (and obv. the text too), though afterwards I
realized I could have done a similar kind of thing in POV just as well, heh.

Unfortunately I don't use Blender at all. I've tried many times over the years,
but finally decided to ditch all hope. The UI is still horrible to get into, and
generally the software doesn't feel like my thing at all.

Mainly my aim is to always use POV as much as possible in all my works. From
time to time I've also been having TopMod, Silo 2 Pro, Wings 3D and PoseRay
involved in my workflow, although in remarkably lesser portions.

Some time ago I also purchased Realsoft 3D to expand my tools a bit, but all in
all POV is my default and basis in everything. =)

the last remnants of aukward workflow have been blast away in blender 2.8 (no
more right click selecion) now, almost sadly for me but happily for you, it's a
package like any other.

Really? Then it may be time for me to look at it seriously. Like Pekka
Aho, I had abandoned any hope of learning Blender. I never got the hang
of it. However, I am so used to Silo 2 Pro that it will be a painful
process nonetheless. ;-)

I'm afraid it's all a bit too late for me now, as I've simply lost my interest
completely. At this point it seems impossible to get over all the swear words,
frustration and psychic meltdowns I had back in the day with Blender. The
negative mental associations are just too much to handle. :D

I recently paid 200 EUR (approx. 222 USD) for Realsoft 3D (formerly known as
Real 3D), which actually has some similarities to POV what it comes to building
objects and scenes, texturing, general way of "thinking 3D" and so on, thus I'm
heading that route for now. That is ofc, when I have spare time from all my
POVing. :D

I recognize the symptoms. ;-)

I have built a decades long routine using Silo in combination with Pov
and I probably will stick with it till the end of my days. However, out
of curiosity, I often explore other possible avenues a bit, but always
come back to the familiar work flow.

By the way, Nice Roosters scene again. An intriguing world indeed.

Yeah, pretty much the same for me too. I've been a POV user since '93. For me it
was the first introduction to 3D and ray-tracing back in the day, and it formed
my basic mindset and understanding on which to build knowledge and skills all
the way up to this day. Even though I've tried and used a lot of other tools,
programs etc. along time, I always come back to POV no matter what. It feels
like being at home. It is almost like an extension of my mind and soul. POV will
be in my heart forever. :D

I forgot to mention that they remind me somehow of the Sin City movies...
