I don't think so, go on, looks good!
And thus begins the infamous war between Earth and the Romulan Empire!
..... or maybe not, the purists might argue if this kind of ship was already
around during THAT war - I don't care, nice picture. The ship is a bit dark,
maybe...

By the way: Thanks for the POV-Ray-readable star catalogue over in "ping pong";
I was just starting to write my own conversion tool for one of the downloadable
catalogues because I wanted to make some birthday presents for my friends
incorporating their zodiac-signs and got a into a bit of trouble - and POOF
there came the alphaQuadrant and posted most of the imported data - thank you
again!

I hope I can make good use of that. If so, the results shall soon be posted!

Greetings
Karl

Excellent, be a critic. With interest I might do something like this.
About 4 weeks to work it out, close as I can figure the solar sytem to be:

To do:
Map Uranus rings/find pictures to go from

(My attempts failed, need someone with more experience)

Features:

10 planets, 160 Satellites
220 Messier and Selected objects
FlamBayer Cat 3133 Stars, parsecs
View stars and system targets by name

OrbitCam
Glow/flare stars
Spiral galaxies
Milkyway
Warbird
Labels
Etc.

Maps required. See Readme
At my site then I can update if there are issues. (Let me know)
http://home.earthlink.net/~gamma-quadrant/planetarium4.zip
201003 (unless updated)

OpenGl @ 70fps
http://home.earthlink.net/~gamma-quadrant/iss-shot2.jpg
(I should figure out why 3ds2pov is failing on my ISS model)

As for the catalog data, I just write a script in about 10 minutes and convert
presto. Easy.

Closer look at Warbird:
glad to help out,
aQ

The only cause of Megapov crash I've seen is an undeclared or misspelled
variable in an #if directive, outside a macro. Such may have been the case if
someone,

[ in the last half hour ]

downloaded file size 201003 and turned on atmosphere.

update: 200997 bytes

sorry for any inconvenience

I supposed you would be using MegaPOV; some of the stars in the first picture do
look like glow{} ...

But that cat-eye-nebula thingie to the right of the ringed planet:
That's a photo, isn't it?? ;-)

I thought I used used Megapov for the "only" date() function.
No one has argued that point yet.

http://members.aceweb.com/alphaquad/planetarium-objs.zip
133 photos 4.8 meg

Megapov glow was used in case it was anymore efficient to a scripted glow.

If you take a look a Rune's Particle System you'd see something like this:
Glow.inc

Other distance data and all that exists on it perhaps is thanks to CalTech.

http://nedwww.ipac.caltech.edu/level5/NED1D/
6 megabytes 1,210 galaxies

intro.html describes a previously published page with 10 distance method
columns.

Seems to have been reduced to a single 4th column Mpc.
So ignore certain stuff on intro.html

With anyone's version my first question was always, how far?
