Excellent, be a critic. With interest I might do something like this.
About 4 weeks to work it out, close as I can figure the solar sytem to be:
To do:
Map Uranus rings/find pictures to go from
(My attempts failed, need someone with more experience)
Features:
10 planets, 160 Satellites
220 Messier and Selected objects
FlamBayer Cat 3133 Stars, parsecs
View stars and system targets by name
OrbitCam
Glow/flare stars
Spiral galaxies
Milkyway
Warbird
Labels
Etc.
Maps required. See Readme
At my site then I can update if there are issues. (Let me know)
http://home.earthlink.net/~gamma-quadrant/planetarium4.zip
201003 (unless updated)
OpenGl @ 70fps
http://home.earthlink.net/~gamma-quadrant/iss-shot2.jpg
(I should figure out why 3ds2pov is failing on my ISS model)
As for the catalog data, I just write a script in about 10 minutes and convert
presto. Easy.
Closer look at Warbird:
glad to help out,
