Hi all. I've been working on a program that lets you take a pov text file(s)
and add a key-frame sequence(or path) to any vector, float, or text in the
file. It will interpolate between keys. Then the program will run POV using a
GUI extension to process the individual frames. The paths are creating
visually, using lines, arcs and bezier curves.

Is anyone interested in seeing a program like this? Has it been done before? I
started the project a while ago 'cause I needed a programming project to work
on, so I won't be too disappointed if there's no interest(at least I had fun
making the program!). Anyway, any feedback is welcome.

I'm thinking Patrick's Curve Generator is one such animation utility (can't seem
to locate it anywhere now), and perhaps a few others are out there somewhere.
Thing is they all seem to be older and for versions 3.0 or previous.
Here's a web page with many listed toward the end of the page:
http://www.the-spa.com/shawn.fumo/povutils/SFPovUtilsList4_Part2.txt
It may be though that none can be used to run POV-Ray via extension, unless
Moray is counted.

Thanks for the links! I've check em out and haven't found a program that a
similar job, but I'm taking the lack of responses as a lack of interest. So If
anyone wants to try it just let me know.

Dave.

Activity on this server is a bit slow on the weekends, give it a chance :)
I have seen several messages posted in the past couple of years from
people seeking keyframing appliactions for POV-Ray. There is an interest
but I am not sure how much. Many of the visitors here that are into
animation work are already pretty advanced. If you put this app on a web
site and gave me a link to it I am sure that the people visiting the
povray.org links pages would find and use it if they are interested in
it.

Thanks, Ken. I will keep this in mind till I'm ready to release, currently
it's hardly functional.

Really I was only looking for inspiration for continuing the project. I tend
to ditch older projects in favor of newer, more exciting ones! I would like to
use this program, and if I knew that others would than I would continue work
on it.
