Hi!
Been trying to make this scene look like Da Vinci's painting of the last
supper. The last day was spent on trying to unerstand the table cloth thiny
included in MegaPov. But I just dont get it. I have noooo idea what to do
with it. Tweaking about with the sample codes gives me nothing, excecpt
perhaps more confusion.
Could anyone please try to explain to me how to make the table cloth look
somewhat more like a tablecloth in this scene. It does not have to be with
the cloth macro, but it can be.
Please help.
These are the measures for the actual table in the scene:
box { <-100, 29, -45>, <100, 31, -10> translate <0,0,0> }
And here's the current version with the "box cloth"... :/

I put my hopes to you guys and gals..! :)

That scene makes me laugh. Very nice spinn on the classic.
Sory, I can't help, I've got no working experience with that feature :-(

Lol, as far as the scene is concerned! Very well done.
Now, the table cloth. I have been using the macros on and off and each time
I need to go back to basics to know what I am doing. However, it is not too
difficult. First a few comments:
- your cloth seems to fall really straignt down. That might be because your
iterations are set too high. As you know, you drop the cloth from somewhere
above the table and it will try to conform to the table until the last
iteration. So, what you could try to do first is start with very few
iterations and increase them until the cloth drapes nicely over the table.
Too many iterations and the sides will fall straight down.
- If you succeed with the first phase, you might want to try to add creases
by dropping the cloth under a slight angle and tweak the settings for
stickyness (I don't remember exactly the term. Shall have to look that up)
appropriately.
I shall try to brew up an example, using your table settings :-)
Hope this helps for now.
Thomas

Not an answer about megapov but... If you are using poser figures why not
I like the concept although you could get some bad reaction from the
born-agains and fundamentalists.
But then maybe not :-)

OK
I made a little commented demo file which I shall post in p.b.s-f under the
same header. An image will be visible in p.b.i. It shows that the table
cloth has not yet fallen completely, so you can yet increase the
interations, in steps of 10 or 50. Just mess around :-)
In addition, play also with the intervals and rotations.

Wow! Thanks a lot guys, and most of all Thomas for giving my problems your
time!
(The models are not poser, just ragdolls converted to .inc-files.
And this scene is not in disrespect to anyone. Just for fun.)

You are welcome! Glad to have been of help. It is always worth the time.
I had this little scene already there for my own use whenever I need the
macros, so it was fairly easy to adapt it to your needs. I always use it
outside of my main scene until I am satisfied, and then just incorporate
the mesh into it. I often need to refresh my memory with the docs too
however.

Just been thinking: If you want the table cloth ends to crumple on the
floor, be sure to add the floor (or its dummy) to the target objet.

Roger that. Well your commented code was sure more enlightning to me than
the documentation. Im tweaking the intervals and iterations atm.
Will post later in images.
