I like the contrast between the colors and the black background. Having said
that, the wife lightened the sword before she added the text. Personally, I
don't like what that did to the colored part of the blade. She does.

I had avoided posting the url to the image as it appears online. (This forum not
being the place to pimp the wife's book). You can see that one at:

You'll notice that it's not the same sword. The newer (posted) image is a two
handed sword, the handle being longer and thinner than the online version. More
importantly, the necklace chain is much more realistic in the second image. I
went from a million instances of a single link to individual links all
placed/rotated in the modeler. And, not that it's discernible, but the knotwork
on the first image is just floating in space. In the second, it's part of the
guard.

If you happen to visit her site, the background image(s) were generated using
the same method as the colored part of the blade.
