Shortly after this image was rendered, I went down the media/fog path. I quickly
discovered that this scene was not the place to be teaching myself the
ins-and-outs of media. The rendering times were excessive, as you predicted.

( I generally use the plane-with-box method when experimenting with features
I've never used before).
