A more learned person than I am could explain why csg constructions are
difficult to convert. It has been explained here in the past iirc but I forgot.

Personally, I model most of my objects externally. The primary reason is that in
my POV-Ray scenes I prefer to work with meshes which are more parse and memory
friendly and render faster, especially in crowded scenes. While I love pure csg
building, it has moved to the background for me.
