Sweet!  Neat to see that implemented right in POV-Ray.  (Thanks by the way, even
though I haven't had a chance to try it out yet!)  Are the white speckles
texture or artifacts?  What was the rendering time?  I might recommend playing
around with the coloring and lighting just a little bit.  An opposing color for
the subsurface part can add some depth to it, and maybe a different lighting
angle wouldn't leave the middle so dark.  But I say that as if I have any
artistic sense, so take it with a grain of salt.  Neat nonetheless.
