Really? It must be the .dat thing at the end. (Or else it's the xvid codec I
used--if you don't have it, it's definitely worth downloading. Compresses an
MPEG file smaller and with much better quality than any other codecs I've
tried.)
Even on my own Windows system, when I downloaded that animation to make sure it
played well, no player app came up automatically--I had to *browse* to Windows
Media Player (the only player I have at present.) The .dat extension--which
seems to be automatically appended to animations when they are uploaded to the
newsgroups--is probably the cause.
