I was using a 250mm lens at f/2.8, with the car being about 40m away. I think
it's pretty physically accurate, just a little contrived artistically, I agree.
When I'm experimenting with a technique, I tend to over exaggerate things that
would be better left a bit more subtle. Sorry!
