Just a quick note; I didn't dive into this too deep yet, just discovered it
trying to get some quite complex scene working with the 3.7 (beta 29):

The no_image seems to be broken in the beta; as it seems, it does not only
prevent the object from showing directly in the picture, but also hides it in
reflections.

Seen this with a media container, so it may actually apply to media effects
only.

There also seems to be something strange with this and radiosity: Applying
no_image to the media container seems to boost the radiosity effects of any
emitting media within.

I'll try to compose a minimal scene showing the effects, but I'm not sure yet
when I'll find the time.
