It looks really good.
Caveat: I am tired, and when I am tired, my eyes see more CG, if that makes
sense. I can't watch movies in this condition 'cause I see all the flaws
when things blow up ;) So I am not trying to be harsh, I just want to
catalogue my first reactions. It does look quite nice - really.

It looks plasticky. Part of that is the surface texture- if this was cast,
there would be some small amount of texturing, and if it weren't cast, then
I'm not sure how it was made.
If it is tarnished, it is most likely old - then there would also be wear
from use. I think some kind of gradiennt on each leg, so that the outermost
bits would be bright and shiny, polished by fingers, and the recesses and
inside would be darker, dirtier.
The specular isn't bad. Again, it needs just the tiniest surface texture, to
break up the brightness.
The color combination is rather nice, from tarnish to polish- but it is too
mottled. It looks like bozo, to me - and it wants somethign smoother, less
blotchy.
Photons. Obvious scene for photons, but you aren't making a scene, of course
- you are showing off an object/texture. Photons with dispersion would be
pretty, though.
The lens is lovely. It feels heavy. It needs some big photographer's
reflecting disks in the background, though, to make some interesting
reflections. Just a few flat white squares, perhaps arranged as a window
(four in a square).
Might there be soem kind of mounting for the glass? It is just sitting there
- but perhaps its weight would hold it in.
At the risk of rambling, I take back the mottled comment, just for the feet.
THe tarnish with bozo on the feet is good. I like it. But the posts of the
legs need to be darker, and the ring that holds the lense needs to be less
mottled, more smooth. The top and bottom of the ring would be bright,
perhaps, and hte middle less so, excepting maybe a patch or two where it is
customarily gripped.

Heh. If you can do all that, you know pov a lot better than I.
